Prediction and integration during discourse processing

While there is quite a bit of evidence for prediction based on syntax and thematic roles within a sentence, there is less experimental evidence for prediction at the level of discourse relations. I will discuss to what extent we can find evidence for prediction and early integration of the information conveyed by a discourse connective, with a particular focus on the question at what level of granularity discourse relations can be modelled in order to describe the experimental data.
